News from the Town Clerk - Dog Licensing 2008 dog licenses are now available at the Town Clerk's Office. State Law requires that every owner or keeper of dogs 4 months old or older shall annually, on or before April 30th, license his/her dog(s). Proof of a current rabies vaccination must be provided, unless it is already current and on file at the Town Clerk's Office. All current licenses expire April 30, 2008. A late fee of $1.00 per month will be charged for any dog not licensed by June 1, 2008. We are obligated to inform the Police Department of a violation of the State Statute and a Civil Forfeiture can be issued which provides for a $25.00 fine. Residents are also reminded of the leash law ordinance and other Animal Control ordinances for the Town of Exeter. Click here to go to the Exeter Town Ordinances. A Rabies Clinic will be held on Sunday, April 20, 2008 from 10:00AM - 1:00PM at the Stratham SPCA on Portsmouth Avenue, Stratham.
